The three gaps, stated plainly
What we cannot read
- The Tax Department's own website sits behind a firewall that refuses every automated request — including its robots.txt.
- The Ministry of Health's site tells crawlers to stay out, and we comply.
- Registrar filings themselves — dissolutions and documents taken directly from the company registry — are not monitored. Nor is the Gazette's Fifth Annex, where the Registrar publishes incorporations, and the confirmations that a warned company was struck off, restored or reinstated.
What we do instead
- We read ΟΕΒ's republication of the department's announcements and say so on every tax alert — something you don't see may still have been published.
- Nothing. A source that refuses crawlers stays unread.
- We read Gazette Section B in full — when a strike-off warning appears there we take the whole list, not a sample. Section B is where the Registrar publishes the three-month warning, which is the notice with a deadline on it. What we do not yet read is the Fifth Annex, published three months later, which records which of those companies were actually struck off and which were saved.
2,096 notices read in the last 90 days. 43 matched a client register. That is the honest measure of an alert service: it promises attention, not a legal outcome.
